Two Days in the Emerald City: The 2025 Washington State Thespian Festival!

  • Dates: Thursday & Friday March 20-21, 2025

    The State Thespian Festival is an opportunity for Theatre students and teachers from across the state to gather and participate in clinics and workshops presented by local and national instructors. Students also have the ability to perform and watch performances from students across Washington State. Any high school student may attend, they do not to be a thespian, nor do they need to have qualified at a regional event.

  • Seattle Convention Center Arrival and Logistics at "Arch at 705 Pike St."

    The Festival begins with Troupe Check in on Level 6 of the Seattle Convention Center on 705 Pike St. Seattle, WA 98101

    Secure, complimentary luggage storage is available at SCC Thursday and Friday and access limited during the day. If seeing Waitress Friday night, you will be able to retrieve your luggage at SCC immediately after the show.

    Inducted Thespian Registration: $125

    Future Thespian Registration: $150

    Adult Troupe Director and Chaperone Registration : $50

    LATE FEE: $250

  • Lunches, Snacks, and Dinner Thursday

    Lunches from our Sponsors, 5 Spot and Wayward Vegan are included in your registration for both days. See 2025 Festival Menu details here. No organized outside food for full schools is permitted inside SCC, however, personal food packed with your own belongings is okay. A coffee and snack cart for purchase will be available in the Festival Info Hub (Ballroom 6E) both mornings.

    NEW for 2025: Schools have the option to take a self-organized Dinner break Thursday night OR have a Troupe BBQ Dinner & Mini Workshop Add-On!

  • Hotel Information

    Troupe directors should book hotel rooms, complete the proper paperwork for field trips, and arrange transportation early.

    WA Thespians is works with our partners at The 5th Avenue Theatre and local hotel partners to offer discounted hotel block pricing. More info included in our fall monthly newsletters. Schools book directly with the hotel of their choice and may make their own arrangements elsewhere.

  • Registration Details

    Once your registration has been confirmed and invoices are issued, there are NO REFUNDS or SUBSTITUTIONS. Failure to complete payment will prevent your troupe from registering for future Washington Thespain events including State Thespian Festival, INTAF, regional Thespy Events and Teacher In-Service.

Registration for the 2025 Washington State Thespian Festival has closed.

Registration is handled through one single Google Form! After you submit your state registration you will receive an email with a link that will allow you to make edits up until the registration deadline. Please use the spreadsheet template to input student information to submit as part of your registration.

Info you will need for the Participant Spreadsheet Template:

  • All student participant and adult chaperone names

  • Pronouns (as preferred for badges)

  • Student Thespian or Future Thespian status

  • Student attendee National Qualifier or State Honoree status from Regional Thespys

  • T-shirt sizes for all students and chaperones

  • School Name

  • Troupe number (if applicable)

  • All adult chaperone emails for background checks

  • Any access needs for individuals

4. HEALTH/CONSENT FORM HERE

Teachers must bring 2 printed and completed copies of this form for ALL State attendees (student participants and adult chaperones) to the festival registration desk upon check-in.

General Information

The Washington State Thespian Festival is typically during the third (or fourth) weekend in March.

  • WA Thespians has limited scholarship funds for first time troupes and groups with financial restrictions. For more information, please email info@wathespians.org.

  • Hotels fill up fast! Many troupe directors book rooms almost a year in advance.

  • Only the troupe's Director, Club Advisor, or Drama Teacher may submit the registration. No parents, volunteers, or students may register themselves or others for the State Thespian Conference.

  • Absolutely no refunds will be given.

  • INFORMATION ON TRACKS WILL BE SENT OUT AFTER REGISTRATION.

  • The Seattle Convention Center does NOT allow any OUTSIDE FOOD or DRINK. There will be a coffee/snack station in the Info Hub for light snacks and drinks. LUNCH is provided both days off-site as part of your registration cost. Dinner on Thursday is an optional add on for dinner and private workshop.

  • Bills smaller than $20 are appreciated.
